Oren "Lee" L. Collins Jr.

OREN L. "LEE" COLLINS, JR., 74, of North Manchester, died on Thursday, May 6, 2010, 5 p.m., at Peabody Retirement Community. He was born June 3, 1935, in Lexington, Ky., son of the late Oren L., Sr. and Thelma Rose Collins. He earned his BA degree from Ohio Northern and his Master's degree in BioNucleonics from Purdue University, and graduated from Cumberland College as well. He worked as a Financial Planner with Money Concepts for 20 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of F&AM 32nd degree, past president of The Optimists Club, Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, Lions Club and Southside Business Group. He was also a Sunday School teacher and Democratic Precinct member. He is survived by his former wife, Judy Collins of Fort Wayne; children, Oren Leroy Collins III of Lyons, Ohio, Kelly Lynn (David) Zachrich of Fort Wayne and Ronald David (Lori) Collins of Warsaw; grandchildren, Sara, Leah and Casey Collins, Samantha, Christian and MacKenzie Zachrich; brothers, John (Peggy) Collins M.D. of Kentucky, Jimmy Collins of Tennessee and Carl (Susan) Thompson of California; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Danielle Collins, John and Teresa Collins, Christopher and Ashley Collins and Victoria and Scott Carling. Memorial service is 11:00 a.m.Friday, May 14, 2010, at Trinity Episcopal Church 611 w. Berry St. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Trinity Episcopal Columbarium.
