

Patricia Ann (Pat) Burton, 80, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born April 10, 1940 in Dearborn, MI., she was the daughter of the late Lt.Col. (Ret) Donald Northrup and Florence Marjorie (McEachran) Spohr. She graduated from Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, OH and obtained her Bachelor's in Education from Manchester College in Manchester, IN. She later received her Master's in Education from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, IN. During her time as an educator, she was involved at various schools as a teacher, director, and co-director over the years. Her true love was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. In recent years, she enjoyed the role of grandmother and great grandmother. She was the devoted wife of 32 years to Ronald Lee Burton, who passed away in 1994. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as a sister & brother-in-law Barbara Jean (Durward) King. She is survived by a brother, Donald Bruce (Patricia) Spohr; her children, Kay (Steve) Till, Mark (Laura) Burton, Lisa Ann Burton, Kevin Burton; 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Pat enjoyed many activities over the years. She helped her children through 4-H and Scouts. She was active in her church and the United Methodist Woman. She enjoyed craft clubs, book clubs, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She loved working puzzles, word searches and crosswords, as well as playing Bingo. She will be dearly missed, but is reunited with her family and friends that have gone before her.
Graveside services at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Highland Park Cemetery, 2403 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, with Craig Nickols, Associate Pastor and Praise Director at Harvest Fellowship officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Home Health Care Fort Wayne.
