Patrick Burns, 41, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Patrick graduated from North Side High School. He proudly served several years in the U.S. Army where he received many medals and commendations including being awarded the CIB. Patrick was an avid outdoorsman where he loved to hike and fish. He enjoyed animals, especially his dog, Star. His family said he never met a stranger and would often keep them on their toes with his quick wit and humor. Surviving are his parents, Mike and Marjorie Burns of Fort Wayne, IN, two children, siblings: Dan (Amy) Burns; Pauline Workman; Mary (Bill) Harrison; Terry (Gwen) Burns; Shawn Burns; Matthew (Megan) Burns, all of Fort Wayne, IN; Michael (Teresa) Burns of Fort Bliss, TX; Tim (Jamie) Burns of Oakdale, CA; 20 nieces and nephews, and three other children who were an important part of his life. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold St., Fort Wayne, IN with calling one hour prior. Burial to follow with Military Honors at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN, at 1pm. Memorials to the Wounded WaWarriors Project are preferred in lieu of flowers.
