

Phyllis Lee Pontius, 83, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Coventry Meadows. She was born September 23, 1927 in Hartford City, Indiana to the late Thomas and Hilda (Weikel) Pontius. Mrs. Pontius worked as a book keeper and secretary at numerous auto dealerships. Surviving are her daughter, Belinda Baker of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Nikolaos B. Baker, Sr. and Angelia Baker, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Betty Woodard of Evansville; sister-in law, Janet Pontius of Boalsburg, PA; great grandchildren, Nikolaos B. Baker, Jr., Zane Myers, Maysaa Bryant all of Fort Wayne; nephews, Jim (Ruby) Woodard of Evansville, Gary (Melissa) Woodard of South Whitley, David (Kate) Pontius of Northfield, MA and Greg (Judith) Pontius of Beaverton, OR; great nephews, Robert Woodard of Columbia City, Jacob Woodard of Columbia City, Gary Woodard of Fort Wayne, Evan Edward Pontius of Northfield, MA and Blake Arcadia Pontius of Beaverton, OR; great great nephew, Vincent Woodard of Columbia City; step great nephew, Dean Lindley of Kentucky; step great niece Angie Zunun of Kentucky; step great great nephews, Dakota Lindley, Alex Rosas, Robert Zunun all of Kentucky; step great great niece, Gracie Zunun of Kentucky. The family of Ms. Pontius would like to thank the staff of Coventry Meadows and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of mom. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 3 to 6 P.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
