Richard Hoskins

Richard "Rick" Hoskins, 73, passed away on September 21, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born to Carlo and Alta Hoskins on September 27, 1951, in Clay County, Kentucky. Rick worked as a tree trimmer, construction laborer, and welder. He loved boxing, fishing, and hunting. He especially loved fishing with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Two of his favorite spots were Sparta Lake and his sister's property in Arjay, Kentucky. He truly loved teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt, fish, and all of their adventures. Rick is survived by his daughter, Mandy Hoskins; two sons, Jason and Keith (Deena) Hoskins; siblings, Wilma Teague, Audrey (Ron) Brock, Johnny (Ann) Hoskins; several grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nephews; nieces; and many friends. He is preceded in passing by his son, Brian Hoskins; grandson, Quentin Hoskins; great-grandson, Kai Hoskins; and brothers, Leroy and Farmer Hoskins.

A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Richard Hoskins. Rick will always be remembered for his courage and love of the outdoors.
