Richard Lee Raver

Richard L. Raver, 84, a caring husband, father and grandfather passed away surrounded by his family on March 22, 2023 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born to Howard and Gladys (Bell) Raver on July 5, 1938 in Decatur, Indiana.

After graduating from Decatur High School, he completed a Toolmaker apprenticeship with General Electric in Fort Wayne. He also served from 1960 to 1966 in the Indiana National Guard. He later received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Univ. of Central Florida. Richard retired from Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL in 2000. He was a lifelong tinkerer who could repair almost anything.

Richard married Jeanne (Schilling) Raver on June 6, 1959 in the United Brethern Church in Decatur. Together they raised three children; Nola (Travis) Beck of Fort Wayne; Sara Raver (Aric Smith) of Berthoud, CO; Jana Raver (Philip Munk) of Bath, Ontario, Canada. They have been blessed with three grandchildren; Emma Beck, Laura (Mo) Emerick, and Vivian Raver-Munk.

In honoring Richard's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that an act of kindness to someone else be performed in memory of his generous and giving spirit.
