Obituario de Robert "Bob" D. Bollenbacher
ROBERT "BOB" D. BOLLENBACHER passed away early Sunday morning, December 30, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne on October 3, 1959, "he left us much too soon and will be missed far more than can be expressed." Bob grew up in the Time Corners area, attended Anthony Wayne and Portage Junior High, and graduated from Elmhurst High School and ITT Technical Institute. He had a wonderful childhood growing up in a neighborhood where all the kids were free to ride bikes, catch bugs, and play hide and seek late into the evening under the watchful eyes of caring parents who all looked out for each other. He started as a bat boy at Time Corners Little League and played baseball through Senior League, usually coached by his father, the late Richard Bollenbacher. Bob was an employee of Lutheran Hospital having worked at The Imaging Center for 22 years. He appreciated every opportunity to meet and get to know a variety of people. Bob was a loyal and devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs and was a Komet Hockey season ticket holder for the past 26 years. He enjoyed several cruise ship vacations with friends and family, The Beatles and all things Mayberry. "He will be remembered for his positive attitude, a big smile and his ability to respond to about any situation with a silly joke, creative play-on-words or a ridiculous pun. He made everyone feel special and important to him, because they were. " Bob was a thoughtful son to his mother, Grace Bollenbacher; and the very best brother to his sisters and their husbands, Nancy (Jon) Schoenle, Janet (Dan) Stahl, and Jill (Phil) Coons. He was an extremely generous and extraordinary uncle to his nephews and nieces, J.P. (Candice) Stahl, Zeb (Courtney) Stahl, Jeff (Shelley) Schoenle, Leah (Matt Thomas) Schoenle, and Riley, Payton and Kirbyana Coons. He was a playful and adoring great-uncle to Lucy Stahl, Evan Schoenle, and Charlotte and Wyatt Stahl, and had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Chloe Grace Stahl. His cousin, Ning Sanderson (Mike), held a special place in Bob's heart and he often referred to her as his sister. Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral home on Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior. Bob's family will also receive visitors from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the funeral home.
