 Obituario de Robert Gregory Pease
Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Robert Gregory Pease, 90, on September 5, 2021. He was born in New York City, NY on June 13, 1931, the son of the late Robert Matthews Pease and Anna Mae Pease. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. Robert (Bob) was stationed in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. After his military service he obtained his Associates Degree from Alfred State College, Alfred, New York. He retired from Superior Linkage in New Haven, Indiana on January 31, 1992. He was a member of the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, Garfield, MD, and formerly attended Union Church in Huntington, IN. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He always enjoyed a good joke and laugh. If country music played he would grab a gal and dance. His blue eyes would say, “come dance with me, life is too short”. Before you knew it, everyone would be dancing in the kitchen, cooking and filled with joy. His personality would light up a room and yet he was a quiet reflective soul. A jack of all trades, he wasn’t one to quit; he would find a way to fix the problem. He grew up with horses and loved them. He taught whoever wanted to learn great life lessons. If you fell off your horse, he would encourage you to get back on. Don’t quit; because life and a beautiful ride is up there for you. Have courage; just do it! He was a great comforter, a strong shoulder and yet revealed an unsurprising sensitivity to the fragility of one’s life. A mentor and a teacher to the younger generation on the basics of caring for your vehicles, machinery, making things work, a life lesson in and of itself. He loved to travel and the highlight for our family was planning a summer vacation. We would load up the camper and head out on an adventure; Maine, Colorado or Florida, it didn’t matter. What was important was being a family and making memories. He would travel to where his children and grandchildren lived; Auburn, IN, Boston, MA; to Portland, OR, Coral Springs, FL; and Virginia to Germany. He was a gardener, enjoyed raising animals and building. He came to Huntington 45 years ago with a dream to build a house, a barn, plant trees and live a life farming. He did just that. He left a legacy for his family who meant everything to him. He was a gentleman and always thankful when he needed help. A great compliment from one of his caregivers, was “Sweet Robert” when she learned of his passing. He was a sweet man and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eileen Mae (Cline) Pease; children, Patricia G. Lindsley, Mary Lu Roszko, Robert M. (Dera) Pease, and Katrina A. (Robert F. III) Beckley: grandchildren, Keith S. (Nicole) Lindsley, Drs.Robert C. (Susan) Pease, Jared M. Pease, Christopher A. Pease, Lindsay M. Roszko, Hannah L. Beckley and Aaron M Beckley; and son-in-law, Col. Marc H. Lindsley (Ret). He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kathryn Marie Lindsley; and son-inlaw Stephen York Roszko, Jr. Our family would like to thank Bethlehem Woods, Ft. Wayne, Indiana for their care and compassion. Memorial donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Funeral service is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons, Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 with visitation from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.. His interment will be held at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, Garfield, Maryland and announced at a later date. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:23
