Robert Morris Swick

Rob is survived by his sons: Robert (Amoreena) Swick II, James (Aleshia) Swick, Jeremy (Nicole) Swick, and Donald Capps; brothers: Joe (Judy) Swick, Dannie (Georgia) Shearer, Doug (Vickie) Swick, William “Bill” (Millie) Shearer, and Harry (Billie) Swick; grandchildren: Logan Swick, Skye Swick; Jessamyn Swick, Isabel Swick, Paige Romines, Rebekah Ortez, Andrew Ortez, and one on the way; Raven Swick, Adriana Swick, and Alena Swick.

He was preceded in death by: fathers, Joe Swick Sr. and Wilbur “Bud” Shearer; mother, Waneta “Neta” (Swick) Shearer; sister, Carletta Swick; brother, Phil “Butch” Shearer; and granddaughter, Heaven Swick.

A Veteran of Desert Storm/Desert Shield; retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, serving honorably in supply management from December 1975 to May 1996. During his career, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, and numerous other awards and decorations. After his retirement from the Air Force he held various civilian occupations.

His favorite pastimes included playing golf, following The Ohio State University football and Indiana University basketball teams, and spending time with loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Legion or the USO.

A celebration of life will be held at 12pm Saturday, February 2 at Pine Hills Church, 4704 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46818 with calling beginning at 10am.
