He was born on November 23, 1969, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Raised in Fort Wayne, Rob graduated from Homestead High School before obtaining an associate’s degree in Lasers and Electro-optics Technology at Vincennes University.
He moved to Florida where he worked twelve years at Northrup Grumman Corporation before moving back to Indiana. He worked another eleven years combined at Bell Techlogix and Epson.
Rob always had an interest in astronomy and science, and he spent many nights looking at the stars, planets, and spaceship launches. A kid at heart, he still loved all things ‘80s (The Cure, Star Wars, Looney Tunes), and he had a talent for art.
Rob is survived by his parents, Toni Ann Tyner and John and Joyce Tyner; his siblings, Theresa Tyner, Angela (Gary) Clayton, Thomas Tyner, Christine Robinson, and Carolyn (Bryan) Thomas; his daughter Kimberly Tyner; and his niece and nephews. Rob was preceded in death by his sister, Tracey Tyner.
A memorial gathering will be on Saturday December 21, 2024, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home- Covington Knolls, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, with a memorial service starting at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
