

Roger "Sonny" Adrian Deveau Jr., 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born on April 19, 1949, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son of the late Roger Adrian Sr. and Jacqueline R. (Clark) Deveau. Sonny was a graduate of North Side High School and served in the U. S. Army's 8th Army Command in South Korea. Sonny raised his children on Big Long Lake in Wolcottville, Indiana where he owned Deveau’s Marina for several years and later Yankee Park. Sonny loved boating, water sports and bass fishing. He was known as the local mechanic who could fix anything. Sonny later retired from Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne, where he worked as an electrician and relocated to Anderson, South Carolina. There, he continued bass fishing and followed the Clemson Tigers along with his grandson Maverick's baseball team back in Indiana. Sonny is survived by his children, Tharon Shiley (Curt McGinnis), and Ty (Julie) Deveau; grandchildren, Jordahn (Derrick) Oyervides, Madelyn Shiley (George Rodriguez), Camryn (Taren) Nichelson, Maverick Deveau and Skylar, Patrick and Ty McGinnis; great grandchildren, Anabelle, Elena, Corben, and Teagan; brothers, John (Kay) Deveau, and Jim (Becky) Deveau; sister, Kathy (Mike) Stalter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Deveau. A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808. A celebration of life open to all will follow at Glendarin Hills Golf Club from 2:00-5:00 PM ET, 3333 Glendarin Way, Angola, IN 46703.
