He was born on June 21, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ron was united in marriage to Lynne Parks on January 23, 1960, at Anthony Wayne Church of God, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a member of the former Risen Savior Lutheran Church now joined with St. John Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was also a member of the Ageless Iron Tractor Club in Roanoke, Indiana. Ron graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1959. After high school he worked at Fort Wayne Metals. He went on to become a journeyman electrician with Parks Electric and then Holderman Electric. Later he joined the IBEW and before retirement in 2002 worked for Service Electric. After retirement he did odd jobs for Franklin Electric for several years. Ron loved this country. He enjoyed learning about the hidden places and taking a drive to see them and you just couldn’t keep him home. Ron and Lynne were able to tour the countryside, checking out his favorite spots up until his last few days. Ron’s other favorite activity was a good chat with friends and family. He didn’t know a stranger so almost anyone he met was a candidate for a good chat. He genuinely cared about people and was a wonderful listener and thoughtful conversationalist.
