RONALD L. HETTINGER, 73, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 3:30 a.m., at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born Oct. 24, 1940, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late William B. Hettinger and Julie B. (Ramsey) Hettinger. He served in the Army and was a machinist / supervisor at Lincoln Manufacturing for 27 years. Surviving are his wife, Kitty (Poon) Hettinger of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Tammy Hettinger Harden and Christine Hettinger, both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Dan Hettinger and Bob (Karen) Hettinger, both of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Marge Wright and Shirley Bernardin, both of Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren, Rhonda Tate of Kendallville and Rachael Oaks of Fort Wayne, and 3 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Hank, Roy, and Al; great-grandson, Alexander; and his wife of 47 years, Sandra Hettinger. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Matthew Leffler officiating. Calling also from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials to Visiting Nurse Hospice Home.
