Russell Franklin Herron Sr.

Russell Franklin Herron Sr., 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019. He was born to the late Russell Guy and Phyllis E. (Tucker) Herron on November 14, 1942 in Churubusco, IN. Russell proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Russell is survived by his wife, Valley Herron; children, Russell Herron Jr., Robert Herron, and Carol (Ken) Blake; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Milo Herron, Judy Schaefer, Norma Clark, and Herbert Herron; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, George Wesley Herron and Larry Francis Herron; granddaughter, Trescha Dean Blake; and former wife, Rose Herron. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, January 11, 2019 at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home (1327 N. Wells Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46808) with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Valley Herron.
