Russell T. "Russ" Mumma, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Russ was the son of the late Harry and Gertrude Mumma. Russ served our country as a US Army veteran. Russ married the love of his life, Elaine on August 30, 1958 in Fort Wayne. He was a Registered Sanitarian with the Allen County Board of Health from 1959 to 1995 prior to working for the Wells County Board of Health until his retirement in 2001. He was a past member of South Side Nazarene Church and current and active member of Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene. He served as a church board member, treasurer, song leader, and head usher for both churches, along with teaching Sunday school. Russ served on the Northeast Indiana Board for his church for many years. Russ organized most of the churched prime time events. He had a strong faith in the Lord and went on over 20 mission trips. He was also a member of Indiana Environmental Health Association, Northeast Indiana I.E.H.A., Indiana Board of Registered Environmental Health Specialist which he served on their executive boards. Russ was an avid reader, loved traveling, and cherished the time spent with his family. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Elaine Mumma of Fort Wayne; son, Kerry (Susan) Mumma of Fort Wayne; daughter, Sheri Pedersen of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, Jessica, Dustin; great-grandchildren, Aidyn, Kaitlyn; and brother, Ronald (Glayds) Mumma of New Haven. Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Mumma. Service is 11:00 am, Friday, April 13, 2018 at Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene, 10621 Liberty Mills Road with calling one hour prior. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Thursday, April 12, 2018, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
