Ruth Cartwright

RUTH CARTWRIGHT, 85, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, Dec. 17, 20`15, 9:24 a.m., at Heartland Hospice. Born Feb. 2, 1930, in New Haven, she was a daughter of the late Harold Shuler and Marie (Louden). She was a production tech for ARC Easter Seals of Indiana. She was a loving homemaker and caregiver who loved to knit, crochet and quilt. She was a member of American Legion Post 499, and volunteered at Heartland Hospice and Turnstone. Surviving are her children, Brenda (Daniel) Seward of Spencerville, Ind., Kay Perkins of New Haven, Ind., Harold (Debra) Cartwright of Fort Wayne, Brian Cartwright of North Webster, Ind.; two brothers, George Shuler of Fort Wayne and David (Cheryl) Shuler of Fort Wayne; and sister, Kate Gripple of Ashley, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren . She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Cartwright; and daughter, Karen Ernest. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Father Joseph Gaughan officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N.
