Sally Anne (Shearer) Fleck, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 6, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born January 1, 1937 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Viola (Fry) and Harry Shearer. She graduated from Salem Center High School then attended Purdue University for her undergraduate degree, ultimately earning her Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy from Ball State University. Sally was an avid traveler, taking trips to Europe and the Caribbean with family and friends. She followed Purdue sports and the lives of her family. Sally dedicated her career to the health and well-being of the school children of Indiana. In her spare time, Sally enjoyed sewing projects and hosting family get-togethers. She is survived by Lee, her husband of 66 years; her daughter, Marsha (Ken) Rice; grandson, Jason of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Sally will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 12:30 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place following the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, make donations to your favorite charity.
