

Sally Kay Sanders, age 86, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born May 16, 1938 in Sterling, Illinois to the late Kendall and Lorraine (née Decker) Scott. Sally matriculated from Sterling High School, Class of '56 and attended Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin where she was "Freshman of the Year". She would marry the love of her life, Edward "Ed" Sanders on December 26, 1960. Sally would relocate with Ed and her family to Decatur, Indiana in 1967 and ultimately to Fort Wayne in 1969.
Prior to their relocation Sally worked as a bookkeeper for Northwestern Steel & Wire; and, while raising her children, she would work in the cafeteria for Paul Harding School. In her later years, she would work for Ash Brokerage prior to her retirement from Oberlin Jackson Marketing.
Sally was vibrant, loved to laugh and was the life of the party. Sally enjoyed bowling, spending time at New Smyrna Beach, sun bathing, cooking, and ever the hostess with the mostest, Sally cherished the time spent with family and friends at "Sally's Pub."
Sally is survived by husband, Ed; daughters, Michelle "Shelly" (Bruce) Jones of Canton, Georgia; Dr. Susan "Sue" (Jim) Bosler of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Allyssa (Wil) Knapke, Jake (Lauren Duren) Bosler, Nicholas Bosler, Beau Bosler, Madison Jones, Alexa Jones; great-granddaughter, Annie James Bosler; sister, Sue (Ben) Klingenberg of Sterling; four nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, James (Shirley) Sanders.
Celebration of Life is 2 PM, on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please notify the Sanders' family when donations are made.
