Sharon Leota Davis, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 26, 2022, after a long illness. She was born November 5, 1941 in Dearborn, Michigan the daughter of the late Louis and Geraldine Assenmacher.
Sharon retained deep roots with friends and family in Michigan and Fort Wayne. She married Kenneth D. Davis in 1958, and was very proud of her 63-year marriage. She was a great supporter of her husband and children in all their life endeavors, always providing excellent advice. Sharon became a winter resident of Sarasota, Florida in 1989, but her real love in life was spending summers at her home on Lake George, beginning in 1966. She will be remembered for her many great parties and family gatherings at the lake. The Davis family, along with the families of Fred Bunting, John Gray, and Michael Tinik, will always treasure the large Thanksgiving gatherings through the years. It was important to Sharon that people felt comfortable and welcome in her home, and she loved entertaining.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Kenneth D. Davis; and children, Kenneth Davis of Sarasota, FL, and Caroline Davis (Tim McCrea) of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis "Bud" Assenmacher; and sister, Lisa Tinik.
Sharon's family would like to express a special thank you to all the people who, during recent years, while she was in ill health, called Sharon regularly—particularly Karen Bunting, and Janet Gray, who provided her with their daily prayers.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior.
