Sharon Winget, 79, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on October 16, 2024. Born on June 30, 1945, to Robert and Violet Fox. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family.
In her early marriage, Sharon worked at Prudential but later embraced her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself to her family. Throughout her life, Sharon cherished her family above all else. She was known for her warm heart and welcoming spirit, opening her home to all and treating everyone who crossed her threshold as family. She was a second mother to many and adored all her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Larry, whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with love and laugher raising six children who survive her, Lisa (John) Heinkel, Lori (Ernie) Laureys, Kristi Lehman, Chad Winget, Brian (Shannan) Winget, and Erin (Herb) Laws; 23 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Fox. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Violet Fox; and her grandson, Conner Winget.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to assist with the funeral expenses.
