Sherrell Fullerton was born October 3, 1966, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Johnnie Wells Williams and Barbara Jean Robinson Williams. She departed this life on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the age of 59 at Lutheran Hospital.
At an early age, she was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Jesse White at Progressive Baptist Church. She later worshipped at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served under Pastor Mike Nicholson for many years.
She graduated from North Side High School and went on to attend trade school. She often shared that she was just one class away from becoming a nurse—something she held with pride.
She dedicated over 20 years of service to Fort Wayne Community Schools as a special education aide, where she poured love and care into the lives of the students she served. Sherrell was robbed of her moment and terminated during the time when she was ill, as her employment came to an unexpected end. While this was a difficult chapter, it does not define her legacy—her compassion, her service, and her dedication to others will always be remembered.
She was spoiled and well known for her homemade peanut butter and chocolate cookies. Her family remembers how she always knew just what gift to give, and exactly what dish to bring to every gathering. She loved her family deeply and had a playful spirit. If things didn’t go her way, she’d pull the ace card and would jokingly say she wasn’t feeling well and might stay home—and of course… no cookies.
She was married to Eric Fullerton for 25 years, and together they were blessed with one daughter, Sheena Nicole Fullerton. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Venessa Fullerton, who brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Frederick Williams and John Kevin Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Sheena Fullerton(Leo); her granddaughter, Venessa Fullerton; her faithful companion-her dog, Tabby; her sisters, Selener (Bruce) Walker, Angela (Darrell) Manning, and Erica Timberlake, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
