Sherry Lee Smith

Sherry Lee (Weldy) Smith, 81, died on Thursday, 26 June 2025, at her home in Fort Wayne, in the presence of her loving family and Stillwater Hospice, due to complications from ovarian cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Randall and Timothy. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Audra (John) Zitlaw of Fort Wayne, and Kendra (Travis) Boovy of Mooresville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Bryant of Franklin, Indiana, Madison and Rhegan of Fort Wayne and Nolan and Kiera of Mooresville; two brothers; Brent (Sarah) Weldy of Marietta, South Carolina; and Thomas Weldy of Lapeer, Michigan.

Sherry has been cremated according to her wishes. A headstone memorializing her life is already in place in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart County, where her presence joins that of her parents and grandparents.
