Shirley Jean Carter

Shirley Jean Carter, 79, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022. Born on August 11, 1943, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late William Lester and Susan (nee Dunn) Johnson. Shirley worked for more than 57 years of service as a Pharmacy Tech, at Walgreens. She is survived by her siblings, Eva Rovere, Orville Johnson, William Johnson, and Carl Johnson Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elizabeth Elgin, and Dorothy Parton. A calling to honor Shirley's life and legacy will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. She will be laid to rest at Hensley Chapel Cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
