Sonia A. Schmidt

SONIA A. SCHMIDT, 87, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Sonia worked in the Accounting Dept. with U.S. Foods for 11 years, retiring in 1998, she also worked in the personnel office for Sears for 14 years, and was a Real Estate Broker for three years. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, German Heritage Society. Surviving are her son, Richard A. (Cynthia) Schmidt of Ossian; daughters, Rebecca L. Bultemeier of Bloomington, Ind. and Janet E. (John Bernero) Meyers of Culver, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. and Anna Marie (Mayer) Ross; and her companion, James Brazill on Jan. 29, 2013. Funeral Service is 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Pastor David Mitchell officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
