Susan M. Smith

Susan Marie Smith, 65, of Fort Wayne, Ind., born in Frankfort, Ind., unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her home with family. Susan has left us to join her mother, Mary Lou Lane; father, Arthur Danner; adopted father, Joseph Lane; and her husband, Randy Smith, where they are all with our heavenly father. Susan is survived by her five children, Angie (Mike) Habib, Summer Smith, Amanda (Tony) Fowler, Ben (Hayley Passwater) Smith, and Samantha Smith; two grandchildren, Galexy Marlowe and Emma Smith. A graduate of New Haven High School, class of 1971, she was a proud "Bulldog" and furthered her education at Indiana State University where she obtained her master’s degree in Criminal Justice. She would constantly remind people that she was a Paralegal, which she very proudly earned while raising five young children and while Randy was on the road for work. She was also a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, for over 30 years. Susan was a light to anyone who knew her, and she never knew a stranger. She was a true light to this world and will be missed greatly.

Susan’s wishes were that there would be no services held and instead of sending flowers or cards to the family, that you donate to a local animal care foundation, as she was a huge lover of all animals.
