She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory R. Towsley of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her parents, Tom and Katherine Sweeney; her brothers, Jeff and George Sweeney of Colonial Heights, Virginia; and her sister, Charlene Suter of Dinwiddie, Virginia.
She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Darcy Towsley of Miami, Florida, and Elizabeth Walker (Zachary) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her four grandchildren, Juliet, Isla, Veronica, and Liam; her sisters, Agnes Hughes of Columbia, South Carolina, and Arlene Thomas of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Later in life, Susan developed an interest in culinary arts. She also enjoyed gardening and travel, and valued time with her siblings and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be organized at a later date.
