Tolbert E. Lanier, 82 of Fort Wayne passed on Friday, July 2, 2021. Born on June 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Judson Fanning Jr. and Marie (Lanier) Matthews. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruby J. Lanier; children, Leslie (David) Lanier-Torres, Lester Lanier, Yolanda Lanier, Daryl Lanier, Danielle (Sarah) Lanier, and Keturah Lanier; sisters, Linda (Henry) Burgess and Wendy Farmer; brother, Gregory Fanning; grandchildren, Breon Johnson, David Torres II, and Brianna Lanier; and great- grandchildren, King J. Torres, Malakai Torres, and Malik Torres. Tolbert was preceded in death by his brothers, William Smith, Samuel Fanning, and Judson Fanning II; and sisters, Barbara Hamilton, Tondalayo Bolden, and Vynetta Crider. In keeping with the wishes of Tolbert, there will be no funeral services. Please honor his memory by donating to the Alzheimer’s Association.
