Virginia M. Whitehead, 95, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Coventry Meadows Nursing Home. She was born October 24, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Harry J. and Hazel M. (Lanane) Ritzi. Virginia married John F. Whitehead on July 1st, 1948.
Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan L. Sherrow of Westfield, Indiana and Wendy L. (Phillip) Fry of Andrews, Indiana; a granddaughter, Andrea Coleman; and a great-granddaughter Ava Coleman of Zionsville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Coventry Meadows for the compassionate care she received.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Viewing hours will start at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
