William Kenneth Corey, 69, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the Chateau Rehabilitation and Health Center. He was a native of Greenville, Michigan, born June 2, 1956, to the late Kenneth & Jeanne (nee Bushong) Corey.
William was a graduate of Carson City Michigan, Class of 1974. He earned his Bachelor’s degree online from Continental University.
“Bill”, as most knew him, met Marlene McDonald as they both were faced with a challenging time in their lives. They would meet many times at McDonald’s with her daughter; holding hands was their divine connection. The last time they were at the restaurant, Marlene told him as they departed that she would see him at the altar. They both believed in God and were married on February 14, 1995, at the Heritage Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. They enjoyed 30 1/2 years together until his untimely passing.
He worked for many years in Administrative Management at Day Spring Enterprise in Lexington, South Carolina. “Papa” as we called him, enjoyed being my GPS as we traveled, reading, teaching the Bible, fishing and helping others.
“It’s bittersweet”. Heaven truly gained another angel; we loved him, but we know in our hearts that God loved him best. Bill has joined his mother whom he lost at age 16.
He leaves to cherish many fond memories and will be missed tremendously by his loving and devoted wife, Marlene; a daughter, Becky Conley that Bill was very fond of and enjoyed receiving hugs from; a sister, Kathleen Ball; and nephew, Jeremy Ball; true and close friends, Terry Rudger of Tennessee, Kathy Mills of Michigan, Marg Whiteman and the class of Carson City 1974; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Karen McDonald; as well as other relatives and friends.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Corey family.
