The eldest of three children, Beryle embraced her role as big sister with a loving and protective spirit that would define her life. In her early years, Beryle’s family moved to Hollis, Queens, where she discovered a love for dance, studying tap at the Long Island Institute of Music. By her 13th birthday, her parents had moved the family to Scarsdale in Westchester County, NY. She graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1975 and went on to pursue her passion for theatre at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1977, Beryle relocated to Houston, Texas, where she continued her theatre arts studies at Prairie View College.
In November 1980, she welcomed her beloved daughter Rashida (Nia) Fisher with Roderick Lee. In 1981, Beryle made Fort Worth, Texas her home, where she would build a life rooted in family, faith, and service. There, she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Server. Encouraged by Bill, Beryle returned to school to become a nurse, earning her LVN license in 1985. She and Bill married in 1986 and welcomed their son, William Server Jr., later that year.
Beryle had an unwavering dedication to her work in the medical field and formed countless lifelong friendships through her compassionate care. Her true pride and joy, however, were her children and grandchildren. She was an involved, devoted mother who prioritized her children’s education and faith, ensuring they attended church every Sunday with their Aunt Joyce.
After retiring in 2002 due to health challenges, Beryle found joy in life’s simple pleasures—concerts, baking for her grandchildren, watching plays, and indulging in online shopping. She was a proud and present Nana to Durante and Corey, rarely missing a school event or milestone. She celebrated her daughter’s success as an esthetician and her son’s service in the Navy with immense pride. Known for her vibrant personality, Beryle was an eccentric, joyful social butterfly—always ready to share a laugh, a story, or a kind word. She never met a stranger, whether in person or online.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Phyllis D. Fisher, father Winder E. Fisher, brother Frank Fisher, and her devoted husband William Server Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter Rashida (Nia) Fisher (JuCarlos Stewart); her son William (BJ) Server Jr. (Danielle); her cherished grandchildren Durante Fisher, Corey Wallace Jr., and Olivia Server; her adored great-grandsons Da’Caiden A. Sanders, Zion P. Fisher, and Corey Wallace III; her brother Christopher Fisher; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her warmth, humor, and boundless love.
Beryle’s legacy of compassion, faith, and unconditional love lives on in each life she touched. She now lies in the arms of her father.
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14: 1-3
