Betty Brown Fortune

Betty Marie Fortune, age 79, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. Born on November 8, 1945, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend to many.

A graduate of Secretarial Science from Kirkman Technical School, Betty brought great dedication to her career in Office Management. Known for her strong work ethic and adaptability, she contributed greatly to every company she worked with, always bringing heart to her role.

On December 23, 1965, Betty married the love of her life, Hoyt Lanier Fortune. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and faith. Betty was a member of Richland Hills Baptist Church, where she found great joy working in the nursery, caring for and nurturing generations of children.

In her personal time, Betty enjoyed the peaceful and creative hobby of diamond painting and her beloved pets. Above all, she treasured time with her grandson, Mason, who brought pride and happiness to her life.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Lanier Fortune, and her son, Hoyt Lanier Fortune II. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Marie Fortune and Nancy Nichole Fortune; her grandson, Mason Fortune; and her cherished fur babies, Gizmo, Wookie, and Sugar.
