Beverly Ann Horton was born June 20, 1955, to the parentage of Ms. Billie Ruth Horton.
At a tender age, Ann surrendered her life to Christ and was baptized at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of
Reverend P. L. H. Watson.
Ann progressed through the Fort Worth Public Schools and
graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in 1973.
Ann's life became seasoned with love when she married McClendon Mathis Jr. in January 2001. Unable to bear children of her own, and demonstrated her love by rearing her step-children: Patrikka Henry Knox, Michael Gray and McClendon Mathis III., affectionately known as, “Bubba”.
Having a Passion to care for others, Ann’s career consisted of 27 years of employment with John Peter Smith Hospital and other jobs which she found to be fulfilling.
Ann love Christ, life, family and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McClendon Mathis Jr.; mother, Billie Ruth Horton and grandparents, Leon and Ellie Ree Horton.
Ann leaves to cherish her memories: Sister, Sharon Tamplin (Johnny); Brother, Reverend Donnie W Harden Sr.; step-children, Patrikka Knox (Robert); Michael Gray and McClendon Mathis III.; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and her dearest friend, Glenda McQueen.
