Daddy was born to Robert and Callie Lewis on January 18 of 1942 in Headland, Alabama. He spent over 20 years serving in the U.S. Air Force, and received many accommodations and medals while serving in Vietnam. He was also stationed in Thailand and several other countries in the Pacific Rim.
In 1965 Daddy met Kalliope, also known as Popi, a match truly made in heaven. They married on March 6 of 1966. They had five children, Robert, the oldest, then Liza, and Billy. Daddy adopted Mama’s children, Kathy, and Jimmy.
First and foremost, Daddy was a loyal servant to God. He loved his church and shared the love and warmth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Over the years Daddy became a devoted student of God’s Word. He gave freely of his time and resources to all around him. He is remembered for his servant hood in both word and deed.
Daddy joins Mama, and his brothers and sisters and many friends in heaven.
He is survived by many loving family members, including son, Billy Lewis Jr. and wife Teresa, along with their children Jonathon, Adrien, Lauren, and Alex, as well as Melissa, Tasha, and Chris. He is also survived by his oldest son, Robert Lewis and his wife Ronda. Their children Emily, Tiffany, Jacob, and Mackie brought delight to Grandfather Billy’s life. He is also survived by his daughter Liza who gave him grandchildren, Trevon, Bryson, and Lexi. Great grandchildren have also blessed the life of Daddy over the years.
Daddy was adored by his entire family, and was a pillar of strength in his compassion. He taught us all the value of honesty and hard work. He was truly a great example to follow and will be missed by all his family and those who were blessed to have known him.
