Hey Nana! 2024 is coming to an end! Man has it been a roller coaster of a year. The beginning of the year I was extremely depressed and honestly didn't see much purpose in life, as dark as that may sound. But my life has completely changed. It is so crazy what one year can do. I started a new job that I love! I'm currently on a weight loss journey and have lost almost 30 pounds! And I got engaged to the love of my life. My life is now full of so much joy and positivity. I still think about you everyday, and wish you were here. Thank you for looking over me!

I got a little emotional today, but I always come back to joy. It's so joyful that my mother is with God and not suffering the evils of this earth and is in pure bliss. I cant wait to see you when I enter the Gates. I love you very much and look forward to seeing you again!

Hey Nana, i know I'm the only one who ever writes on here. But honestly I don't care, nothing will stop me. Let me catch you up on life at the moment! ! I graduated college with my bachelor's last year. I start a new job on Monday which i'm super excited and nervous about, it seems like such a great opportunity. My boyfriend and I celebrated our 7 years of being together a few months ago and this is our second year of living together. I really wish you could have met him, he's such a good guy. Through this journey of life I am glad to say that I have gained one truly amazing friend, you would have loved her as well. I really miss you. Oh I forgot to mention we purchased my dream car last month! It was close to your birthday so I felt it was a blessing from you. We went out to your grave on the second of this month and put some fresh flowers out, it was the first time Michael, Juliet and I have been out their together.I really need to start going more because the cemetery is less than 20 minutes away from my apartment. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. My entire life since you left has been based on making you proud and I really hope I can live up to that. I miss you dearly. I love you. -Makena

Brenda, We just got back home from St.Mary's Catholic Church, downtown Alton. We attended 8:00am Mass this morning and the Mass was in your honor. They confirmed from the pulpet this mass for Brenda Hennigan. And the church was decorated so beautifully with pine garland at the windows and poinsetias everywhere across the front of the church. Also decorated wreaths here and there. It was a beautiful sight. You are loved more than you ever knew. Always in our thoughts, Your loving family.

Brenda, Christmas 2011 has come and gone. We gathered as always. Opened our gifts. And remembered you and how we will always carry your memory in our hearts forever. Days go by, one by one. I guess that's the way I'll get through this grieving. At least that's what they tell me. Everyday though, I go about my chores and shopping and visiting with my friends and family. But there's an emptyness in my life that wasn't there before. Like, I'm missing an arm or leg.But I know it's a chunck of my heart. Christmas will be here in a few days. I've sent out cards. But there's a lonelyness I can't describe. We had THANKSGIVING again this year, but without our loved one, Brenda. We miss her so, but was also THANKFUL to have had her for 50 years. So many memories flood my mind. In 6th grade a secret ballot was taken and scrolls were awarded based on the results. Brenda won "Biggest Mouth" & "Class Clown"!! We were best friends way back then and she will always hold a special place in my heart. We will see each other again. Until then, I am sure she will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of Brenda's family. Pat, Mark, Denise, Julie, Mike and Steve, I will always remember my neighbor friends. Brenda was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Bethalto in 1970. Brenda always had a beautiful smile and lots of personality. Sorry for your loss of Brenda.  Friday when God whispered to her and said-I AM HERE TO TAKE YOU HOME WITH ME, she had struggled here on earth, but now no more struggles.'No one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those that love him. 1st Cor.2:9
Brenda was a sweetheart with always having a smile that was contagious, that is one of the many things I remember about Brenda-knowing her since was a baby.
Brian---losing your mate and best friend is not an easy road, but with God's help giving you strength to carry on-YOU will make it.
Some days there won't be a song in your heart---SING ANYWAY.  Heaven is beyond our imagination, but I know Brenda and Robbie---they are walking hand in hand and talking about 'by-gone-days'.

Brian, Kendra, Travis & Brandon, thank you so much for loving & taking care of my "sister" Brenda over the past several months. I was thankful enough to see her last May 2011 when she came back to Illinois for a visit. The 5 girls met over at her mom's house & we had such a good time. We laughed & told stories on each other that made us laugh even more. Brenda was a wonderful friend & great person. She always had a smile on her face & a sense of humor that not everyone understood. She always stood up for what she believed in & nothing could make her back down. I loved everything about her. She had a wonderful spirit & a loving heart. I am sure that on Friday 9/2/11 my dad held out his hand & pulled her straight into Heaven with him. I love you Brenda & will miss you every day until we meet again.

 and friends. I was lucky enough to call her my friend. I will miss her humor and wit dearly. We know she is already kicking butt upstairs.
