

Bufford Lee Warren, Sr., affectionately known as Buf, was born to parents Jesse Warren and Winnie Daye Warren on March 24, 1943 in Gilmer, Texas. He was the 4th boy of six children. When Buf was a boy the family moved to the Northside of Fort Worth, Texas.
In 1961 Buf graduated from M.L. Kirkpatrick 1 of the 2 high schools in Fort Worth that allowed African American students. He continued his education at Tarrant County Junior College (TCJC) where he received an Associates Degree in Auto Mechanics. Shortly thereafter, Buf and his brother, Lester, joined the United States Air Force serving nearly 9 years. After completing his military service Buf went on to have a long and successful career at the United States Postal Service, and after 40 years of combined government service he retired in 2006.
Buf was an avid bowler, and one of his prized possessions was a 300 ring that he received for bowling a perfect game. Being the competitor he was Buf was always game for some dominoes, spades, bid whiz, or pinochle. He was also an accomplished basketball player, and a great cook both in the kitchen and on the grill. Buf passed along his love for basketball and cooking on to his sons.
Since joining at a young age Buf was a proud member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and before being hampered by his illness he faithfully served as an usher, security monitor, a member of the family ministry team, and as a Trustee.
Bufford Lee Warren, Sr. moved to his eternal home on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Winnie Warren, and his brothers Allan and Arthur Warren.
Buf leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 56 years Ruby Warren; his sons Lee Warren and Kobby T. Warren (Melanee); one sister, Lela Wilson (William); two brothers Lester Warren (Barbara) and Jesse A. Warren (Mary); granddaughters Finley Warren, Landry Warren, Hadley Warren, Alexis Thomas, and Amaya Rolla; godchildren Vincent Munroe, Christine Munroe, and Ralita Cheeks; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of long time friends.
