FORT WORTH -- Calvin Earl Evans, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2016. Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1063 E. Rosedale. Interment: Cedar Hill. Visitation: Noon to 5 p.m. Thursday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors. Family hour: 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Calvin was a graduate of Dunbar High School (1964) and a Vietnam veteran. He retired from General Motors after 33 years. Survivors: Daughters, Secret Evans Sowels, Deann Evans-Beatty and Mysti Evans Hughes (David); sisters, Trina Evans, Chandra Swift(Otis); sister and dedicated caregiver, Ardelia Evans; granddaughters, Charde Davis (Randon), Marquela Sowels; grandsons, Michael Sowels Jr., George Beatty Jr. (Janequra), Raymond Beatty and Brandon Hughes; nephew, Reginald Swift(Whitney); niece, Chantalyn Swift; his barbershop family; and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.
