Carl was a proud father and grandfather who loved to spend his time and energy with his family.
Carl’s love of serving others was evident throughout his life. In his early years, he served as a member of the Army Reserves as an officer. Twenty years ago, Carl was instrumental in establishing a track and field program for the City of Burleson with TAAF. He has served as the program’s head coach each year since, helping young athletes develop a love for the sport. Many of whom advanced to state competitions. Carl also enjoyed his time coaching his sons over the years in various sports. As a member of The Heights Church of Burleson, Carl was a volunteer on the church’s dream team.
Carl is survived by wife, Donna Willis Dechert; mother Brenda Appleton; father Curtis Dechert and Sharon; sons Justin Dechert and wife Claudia, Caleb Dechert and wife Alexandra, Josh Dechert and wife Emily, Brody Dechert; stepson Cory Mahon and wife Kayla; grandchildren Ella, Victoria, Carolyn, Eliza, Bradyn, Paige, and Aria; brother Cory Rauch and sister Christi Bracken. He will be missed by the many friends and coworkers he has made.
