

Carolyn was born August 28th, 1941, in Austin, Texas to Orbie and Laura Parsons. She graduated from Stephen F Austin High School in 1956. She then went to work at Southwestern Bell in Dallas, where she lived with her best friend, who later became her sister-in-law. She retired from the Army Air Force Exchange.
She Married Bennett Wayne Smith in October 1963, where they established residents in Fort Worth, Texas.She and Bennett had two children: Misty in February 1964, and Kimberly in July 1966. She married Noel McNiel in February 1995. She was a member of St. Paul UMC, until it’s closing. She and Noel then joined EdgePark UMC.
Carolyn was very active in the church, once president of UMC women’s, Treasurer, a Sunday school teacher and much more. She loved Spending time with her Family. Easter was her favorite holiday, every year she hosted a backyard easter party with games, contests, an egg hunt and the best brisket and mac and cheese. She also loved sewing and crochet often making clothes for her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Orbie and Laura Parsons, Husbands Bennett Smith, and Noel McNiel, and sister-in-law Faye Lynn Pletan.
Carolyn is survived by sister, Jonell Bingham; sisters-in-law, Billy Krynick, Valeta Gilchrest, Bonnie Taylor and her husband, Les, Mary Faktor and her husband, Martin; daughters, Misty Smith, and Kimberly Hock and her husband, Michael; stepchildren, Julie Klemm and her husband, Richard, and Gary McNiel and his wife, Christy. Also included are 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
