Cary Alfred Moore of Arlington joined his wife in heaven on December 7, 2021 at the age of 86. A 10:00 am honor ceremony is scheduled for December 27 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211 which will be followed by a 12:00 pm Celebration of Life at First Presbyterian Church, 1200 S Collins St, Arlington, TX 76010 where he and his wife were members since 1973.
Cary was born June 24, 1935 in Pensacola FL, eldest son of C.A. Moore and Fredda Morton. He served in the Air Force from 1955-1959, earned his BBA from Texas Wesleyan University and an MBA from the University of Dallas. He worked as a Logistics Engineer at Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth for 35 years, then retired to travel and enjoy his grandchildren with his beautiful wife, Ruth who was an Arlington music teacher and professional organist. Cary and Ruth were introduced in college by his sister, Jodi, who was also studying music. Cary was quite a talented clarinet player and loved attending musical performances. They were married in 1960 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage, sharing a love of music and travel, particularly Hawaii. Cary always had a large vegetable garden and several fruit trees at the home he built in 1969 on Crowley Ct where they lived until 2019 before relocating to an assisted living facility. He and Ruth were generous parents who were so proud of their family.
Cary was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Ruth who passed away July 7, 2020 from complications of Parkinson’s. He is survived by three daughters Tina Johnston, Paula Roeder (Chuck), Caryn Getsinger (Brett); one brother, Ron (Ronni); his brother-in-law Louis Reed; eight grandchildren Renea, Robby, Chris, Lauren, Cole, Matthew, Katy, and Ryan; and three great-grandchildren Zoey, Finn and Harper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Arlington TX. Cary sang in the choir for many years, Ruth was the organist in the 1970s, and Cary lent his time and energy to organ repair, pipe tuning, church renovations, and most recently was the music librarian until 2016.
