He was married to Holly Hallowell on January 15th, 1972, at Riverland Baptist in Fort Lauderdale, with a reception at Pal’s Captain Table. Charlie worked as a chef in top restaurants, then in trucking and transportation logistics, and later, in security and security management.
He was a veteran of the navy and served in Vietnam at Danang. He had a passion for music and food, and was an avid golfer, who hit a hole in one one day. He had learned how much he loved individual sports when he excelled at boxing in the golden gloves, continuing to box in the navy, and during a short but successful stint boxing professionally in Florida.
Charles was preceded in death by Kevin, son; Mike and Gordon, brothers; Carl and Betty, parents, Peggy Fields, cousin; Derek, nephew; and Carl Christopher, grandson who passed away in the womb. He was survived by wife Holly, son Carl, grandchildren Charlie Daniel, Carmella Jo, and Cecilia Sunbeam; and sister Phyllis Carnley. Funeral arrangements will be held at 2pm, May 23rd at Laurel Land.
A Funeral Service will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth in the "Chapel of Chimes" at 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134, US, on May 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
A Catered Reception will take place on May 23, 2026, beginning at 3:30 pm.
