Charles was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Washington, D.C. He retired after 36 years of employment from Southwestern Bell, and was a veteran of the Merchant Marine in World War II.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Onda Nelle Meeks; and brothers, Orville W. Meeks Jr., and Milton Roland Meeks. Surviviors: Brother, Melvin Meeks and wife, Lois; brothers-in-law, Arlan Tate, Earl Tate and wife, Keitha, and Floyd Fleming and wife, Pat; niece, Sandra Myers and husband, Charles; nephews, Jerry Meeks, Raymond Meeks and wife, Debra, Steven Tate and wife, Deonnah, and Brian Tate; nieces, Treva Downs and husband, Michael, Trona Milano and husband, Frank; nephew, Sheldon Tate; niece, Sharon Marmolejo and husband, Frank; and nephews, David Fleming and wife, Thuy, and Jeff Fleming.
