Cheryl Lynn Mitchell

It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Mitchell announces her passing, on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the age of 62 years.

Cheryl was born on January 7, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Barnell and Wilma Mitchell. She attended Dunbar High School Class of 1979 before continuing her studies at Tarrant County Junior and Remington College in the medical field.

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered and survived by her two children: Crystal L. Mitchell and Jerrick D. Douglas. Her brother: Michael Mitchell (Narda), sister-n-law Gloria Brown (Wife of decedent Steven Hardy) and honorary brothers (Ronny Mitchell and Larry Warren).

Cheryl will also be fondly remembered by three grandchildren (McKenzie S. Mitchell- Richardson, Aniya S. Douglas, and Jayla M. Douglas), and host of loving nieces/nephews, family, and friends.

Cheryl was predeceased by her grandparents (Mazie & David Harris, Helen & L.J. Mitchell), Grand Papa (Tom Coffie), father (Barnell Mitchell), mother (Wilma Mitchell) two brothers (Steven and Donald Hardy) and honorary grandson (Carl Guy Jr.).

Some of Cheryl’s favorite pastimes was TV binge watching, avid reader, puzzling, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and faithful friends and confidant to all. She had a gift for being the neighborhood therapist, always being exactly where she was needed and saying what was needed to be said. Her memories will be treasured by all who knew her.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
