

Cleveland Earl Johnson, age 75 of Fort Worth, Texas, departed this earth on Monday, April 20, 2025.
He was born on January 1, 1950 in South Bend, Indiana to Robert Lee and Willie B. Johnson, who preceded him in death. Cleveland graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School, South Bend, Indiana in 1969 where he lettered in varsity football and wrestling. Cleveland's nickname was Woodrat. He was often called "Rat" by his close friends.In his youth, local football radio announcers would emphatically say "Rat" penetrates the backfield and Rat on the tackle. In life he enjoyed sports teams. Cleveland lived his early years in South Bend before relocating to Fort Worth, Texas. Much of his professional history included residential and commercial painting where he was well known for his expert skills. Cleveland loved the Lord. His favorite scripture was the twenty-third Psalms. When younger he attended church with his Mother and siblings and was part of the Johnson Trio with his sister, Patricia and brother James. He was fond of a wide variety of music including gospel and rhythm and blues. Cleveland was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Henry Johnson and James Edward Johnson.
Surviving family includes his daughter, Kito Johnson of South Bend Indiana, and four grandchildren, Sir Maceo Jackson, Avion Johnson, Le'Lonni Johnson and Mia Gallardo, of Arlington, Texas. Additionally his siblings, Robert Benjamin Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Johnni roosevelt Johnson of South Bend, Indiana and Patricia Ann Evans of South Bend, Indiana. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends
