Connie Marie Henderson

She was reared in the loving home of her paternal grandparents, Riley Newton and Bertha (Rhodes) Henderson. Connie graduated from Como High School in 1964 and received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Sociology from Pepperdine University of Malibu, California in April 1967.

Connie was an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for over 50 years. She also belonged to the Twilight Women's Club (Federated Women's Club) for many years.

Connie worked for the Social Security Administration and the Department of Defense in Los Angeles, California. She retired from Department of Defense in 1996 while living in Texas. She also worked as a Substitute Teacher in Los Angeles, California and Fort Worth, Texas.

She was a faithful member of Morningside United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Texas until her health prevented her attendance.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents James and Betty Henderson, her paternal grandparents Newt and Bertha Henderson and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Connie is survived by her brother, Michael Henderson of Claremont, California; sister Elba Jean Davis of Shreveport, Louisiana; and her devoted cousin and caretaker Bertha Mallard (Richard). Many other cousins and loving friends will miss her dearly.
