

was born on June 28, 1967 in Fort Worth TX.
He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth in 1985 and received an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Tarrant County Jr. College in 1988. Dan graduated in 1992 with a B. S. in Sociology and Economics from Texas Wesleyan University.
Dan was well known in Fort Worth for his work in construction. His specialties were retaining walls, landscape design, and drainage resolution. Some of his significant projects were retaining walls at the Cowboy Stadium in Arlington and retaining walls and bridges for the Tarrant Regional Water District.
Dan was very fun loving, gregarious and never met a stranger. He travelled extensively, enjoyed camping, water sports, making new friends and spending time with his animals. Uncle Dan enjoyed spending time with friends and family, always making holidays fun for his nieces and nephews. Because of his enthusiastic spirit, his presence at family gatherings was always a treat.
Dan is survived by his mother Sandra Sanders, his father and stepmother Charles and Chris Whisenand, brother Paul Whisenand and wife Darla, sister Wendy Ogletree and husband David, step-sister Brittny Bottorff, and a large extended family including many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 7301 East Lancaster in Fort Worth on Saturday October 21 at 2:00 PM.
