On August 7,1944 Darlene was born to the parentage of Elward and Evelyn (Heiskell) Moore. Darlene was born to be a caregiver, a characteristic she demonstrated early on in the way she embraced her role as big sister to younger sisters Alice and Shirley. Darlene was raised In the Stop Six area; it was in this community that she accepted Christ as a member of Golden Gate Church Of God In Christ under Reverend LC Castleberry and sang in the choir. Darlene attended local schools, ultimately graduating from Dunbar High School.
At the age of 5 Darlene Webster decided that she wanted to be a nurse, again demonstrating her desire to care for others. After high school, Darlene moved to Phoenix, with family, to attend nursing school and on September 9, 1963, she was awarded her nursing certification as well as the first ever award given by The Future Nurses of America.
At twenty-years-old Darlene returned to Fort Worth to begin her career as a surgical nurse. She was just in time for a chance encounter with a young man on a bus who complemented her on her hair, actually, he asked if her hair was real. That man was T.C. Webster who would be the love of her life. They would marry in a stylish wedding in September of 1964 while Webster was on leave from Military Service pending oversea assignment. Darlene welcomed her only child, Torian, into the world seven years later. Due to an injury, Darlene retired from full-time nursing after 22 years in the profession. This was a blessing in disguise as it allowed Darlene to devote all her love and attention to her family.
Darlene never let illness or injury stop her spirit. She embraced her role as wife and mother, not only to Torian, but to neighborhood children as well. Darlene was always available to her sisters, her nieces and nephews or anyone in need. She continued her community and church activities whether in person or by phone as a member of Legacy Fellowship.
Darlene Webster transitioned to heaven on August 20,2023. Her loss is deeply felt by many, but she leaves a legacy of service that is celebrated by her family. Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister Alice. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, T.C. Webster, and their son Torian. As well as her youngest sister Shirley Jefferson, her niece Deanna Williams, and nephews Dwayne Jefferson, Marlon Moore, Mark, and Derek Webster and a host of cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who were always on her mind.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.gwspencerdirs.net for the Webster family.
