On January 14th, 2018 Dawn Louise Porter went to be with our Heavenly Father. Dawn was born in sunny San Diego Aug 23, 1927. Her marriage to Robert Porter in 1954 brought the family to Ft. Worth, in 1964, eventually settling in Burleson. Throughout her life, Dawn had an adventurous spirit that set the pace for others to keep up. Her love for all animals, furry or feathered, brought her as much joy as baking her favorite recipes, eating banana splits, rooting for the Rangers or riding the Texas Giant. She was known for her smile that never ceased to light up a room. Dawn was preceded in death by her daughter Sheryl, and is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert, her 3 children Linda Denman (Sam), Robert Porter (Cindy) and Karen Smart (Buddy), 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A private service will be held at the National Cemetery.
