Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Niece, Cousin & Friend
In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14:2
Diane Thomas, our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, niece, cousin, and friend affectionately known as “Diane,” went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2023. She was born on May 19, 1956, in Palmer, Texas. She was the daughter of Versia Thomas, mother to Donald Broughton Jr., and grandmother to Abreyon Broughton. Diane was reared in a home of love and care, where she was taught to fear the Lord and be kind to others. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and again in her later years. Diane was loved and admired by many who knew her. She had an affectionate laugh and a warm spirit. She was a straight shooter. She was married for three years but later divorced. Diane was very proud to be a grandmother to her granddaughter, Abby.
Preceding her in death is her daughter, Dominique Thomas, grandmother, Ellesa Carter, and father, James Ross.
To cherish her precious memories is her devoted mother, Versia May Thomas of Forth Worth, Texas, one son Donald Ray Broughton Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and one granddaughter, Abreyon Broughton of Fort Worth, Texas, Aunt Verlene Derrow-Mitchell (Syrene) of Dallas, Texas, and best friend Ora Michelle Clarrrette and a host of devoted and loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
