Dorothy was born on February 10, 1938 in Fort Worth, TX to William A and Bertha Tucker. She married John L (J.L.) Harris on December 24, 1953. Dorothy served her family as a housewife and homemaker until her children completed elementary school. She began her professional career as an Accounts Payable Clerk for Western Oil Company. She was a loyal and faithful employee of Western Oil Company until her retirement. Upon retirement John and Dorothy moved to Lake Palestine and enjoyed the benefits of lake life. After several years of lake life John and Dorothy moved to Mineola, TX to be closer to family members. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Mineola. Dorothy had an exceptional artistic talent that she was reluctant to show. Her passion was helping those less fortunate.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, William A and Bertha; siblings, Mildred McCally, Lloyd Tucker, Aubrey Tucker, Billy Tucker, and David Tucker.
She is survived by her son, Daron and wife, T’Anna Harris; and daughter, Darohnn and husband, Ronald Pender; grandchildren, Matthew and wife, Samantha Harris, Cayce and husband, Kevin Wimpy, William Pender and Audrey Pender; great grandchildren, Peyton Wimpy, Wyatt Wimpy, and Beckett Harris.
