

SOUTHLAKE -- Earl Ray Roberts born April 1, 1931 in Abilene, Texas passed away on January 1, 2016 in Southlake, Texas. He joined the Navy at 17 years of age and served his country honorably. Earl met the love of his life, Ann Ward, at Abilene Christian College, and they were married for 62 happy years. Earl began a career with GMAC that lasted for 30 years. Upon leaving GMAC, he went to work for Meals on Wheels and he drove patients to their cancer treatments.
After retiring, Earl went back to college earing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He further pursued his Master's Degree in Counseling. Some of his favorite activities included refinishing antiques, building grandfather clocks, golfing, and traveling the world with his beloved wife, Ann. Two songs that he loved dearly, "It's A Small World" and "The Little Brown Church in the Vale" brought a smile to his face.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Roberts. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; his daughters, Deborah Roberts Frier and Kathryn Akers (Vic); his son, Ken Roberts (Paulette); his brothers, Nevin and Gene Foster, and he was blessed with eight grandsons, two granddaughters, and seven great grandchildren.
The Roberts Family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel 6001 Rufe Snow Drive Fort Worth, Texas 76148. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am with Interment at 2:00 pm at Laurel Land Memorial Park 7100 Crowley Fort Worth, Texas 76148.
In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Earl.
